2021 is off to a good start, while we are still seeing less court time due to COVID-19, the firm is five for five on our Compassionate Release submissions.

2020 brought a lot of hardships for us all, looking forward to a new year of representing our clients and serving our community.

Emily Strongwater is a 2009 graduate of University of Vermont. In college she shaped her experience around the studies of human rights, civil rights, public policy and minority studies.

After college she returned home to Atlanta, Georgia to attend law school at Atlanta's John Marshall Law School. During her law school education she interned with the Georgia Innocence Project and The Federal Defender Program. She also clerked for United States District Court Judge, Amy Totenberg. 

Since graduating Emily has focused on criminal defense work, ranging from city and traffic offenses to state armed robberies and international federal conspiracies. 

Emily is a current and active member of the CJA panel for the Northern District of Georgia.

Admission to the United States Supreme Court

In January Emily appeared in front of the Supreme Court to be sworn in along side a group of criminal defense attorneys sponsored by NACDL.
